CIS JUNOS Benchmark and Juniper Cert Prep Videos

So… I was writing a little series about ADVPN and haven’t posted the follow up articles yet…. sorry, one of them is about 2/3s written and the other one is planned - I have just ended up really flat out the last few months (and will be for another month or so), so have not had chance to blog or finish these off. They are coming though!

So, what have I been so busy on?

Center for Internet Security - Juniper JUNOS Benchmark

As some of you know already, I have been the author/editor for the Center for Internet Security Juniper JUNOS Security Configuration Benchmark for many years.

Over the last year or so I have been undertaking a root and branch review of the entire Benchmark, updating every section and adding new ones for options which have been added to JUNOS since the previous version of the Benchmark was published.

Version 2.0.0 of the JUNOS Benchmark has now been published as a Draft for open Consensus review here: https://workbench.cisecurity.org/files/2267.

During this consensus review period the community is invited to take a look a the draft benchmark and make any comments for corrections that are needed via a discussion or a proposed change. Changes will be review and adopted or move to the next update of the benchmark for further review.

Our intent is to publish and release this benchmark around the 28th of February 2019 unless a major issue arises.

So please do go and check out and review the Draft JUNOS Benchmark if you are at all interested in JUNOS Security - and once published, please feel free to download and make use of this free resource.

Cert Prep Videos

Also on a Juniper theme - the other thing that has kept me fully snowed under since January is that I have been writing and filming a series of Cert Prep videos for Juniper’s JUNOS Genius self study platform.

The first course is almost complete… and yes, it does cover ADVPN (and GroupVPN as shown here).

I will post more about this once the courses are available on JUNOS Genius.

And, I promise, I will finish off the ADVPN series soon, as well as post some other content on the blog. Let me know in comments what you would like to see….
